Background and History

Indio High School is home to a half acre "Land Lab" as part of their Agriculture Pathways Program. Students of the Indio High School Environmental Club spearheaded an effort to create a community composting program as an adjunct to the existing garden boxes, in-ground row crops, and a greenhouse. The project launched in March 2024 and is composting the produce left over from Find Food Bank's on campus distribution and kitchen scrap donations from teachers and students.
